โ€œThis photographic journey began in 2019 when I bought my first motorcycle and began to tour the expanse of highway surrounding my home. I fell in love with the photographs I took along the way and found myself plunging down a rabbit-hole of formal education and trial-and-error shooting. Street Photography captured my heart because it is raw, real, and informal. It happens all at once and never again.

I drop my highlights too low and oversaturate some of my edits. I shoot every sunset I see and never pass up another picture of a dog or a bird. I over-use darkened vignettes. And I donโ€™t give a shit what anyone has to say about any of it.

These are my photographs. They are beautiful. They are flawed. And it brings me intense joy to be able to share them with you. Thank you so much for sharing in this experienceโ€ฆand please, enjoy.โ€

Other Projects

Street photography will always be my first love. However through classes, workshops, skill-shares, and general curiosity, I have been blessed with numerous opportunities to shoot outside of my comfort zone over the past several years. These experiences have served to further develop my technical skillset and helped strengthen my voice as a more complete visual artist.

Here are some of the projects I have been working on beyond the world of street photography.

The Dispensary Series

We are living in an immediate post-prohibition world and the cannabis sector is poised on the verge of unprecedented growth. As the age of legalization is dawning, we are entering into the โ€œWild Westโ€ phase of this fascinating, multi-billion dollar industryโ€™s development.

The dispensary as it exists today will undoubtedly disappear, giving way as this market continues to develop and transform itself into something we canโ€™t yet envision. It is my belief that these images, featuring some of the very first phases of growth, will someday hold more cultural significance than most of us realize in the here and now. They will remind us of a time when we were still figuring it all out.

Some of these photos may capture the genesis phase of the next Anheuser-Busch. Most will simply capture a quaint moment in time; the birth of a thriving new market and our first fumbling attempts to harness its power. These humble storefronts represent a moment of cultural significance, and are worth preserving.

This series will be launched in Spring 2023 and will run for 1-2 years.

Studio, Portrait, and Product Work

Through workshops, university courses, and a little bit of good luck, I have been able to work with some very well-respected professional photographers and have had the opportunity to shoot a number of sessions inside the studio environment.

Dramatic scene creation, product shots, and working with both professional and amateur models, this type of work helps to frame new perspectives on light and lines which greatly complement the street shooting skillset.
